Meet Meg the Doula

WHO I AM

My name is Meghann Horner-Smith, and I am a Doula UK Birth Doula, supporting women and their families in Oundle, Peterborough and surrounding areas. I am honoured that you are considering me to walk beside you on your journey into motherhood.

I am originally from the US, but moved to the UK over 15 years ago. I am now settled in Oundle, UK and have three full-on children.  They are old enough that I now have freedom to explore my own personal interests, but young enough that I still vividly remember my mixed feelings about my own pregnancies, births and early motherhood.

I was fortunate to have amazing Doulas beside me for each of my births, and their practical and emotion support was instrumental in me having positive births myself.  This has led me down the path of supporting women in various ways.  I am a trained NCT Breastfeeding peer Supporter, the former chair of the Peterborough & Hinchingbrooke Maternity Voice Partnership, and a Prison Visitor with Birth Companions.

I am passionate about a women and birthing people's right to make informed choices.  However you plan to birth, I will support you to make the right choices for you and will support you unconditionally.
